Abundance Leads to Searching

Pink's sarcastic humor begins to show that without the need to scavenge for items needed or wanted, Americans long to find purpose and meaning.

While looking through our technology in a store, Pink notices the competition of companies as they try to produce the greatest quality of goods. Technology that was created today will soon be replaced again by a bigger and better idea. Even with an already overwhelming catalog of items, people still look for something more. This search could possibly create the wanting to search for purpose.

The majority of people during the last century desired a home and car. As we enter this new century, people have much more than just a home and car. Americans now must throw away and find a place to store many items to be able to live without a mess around them. Many of the items thrown away were given little to no thought as they were tossed aside. Since people can get rid of many of their possessions, the people in our world look for a deeper meaning that will not be thrown away and forgotten.
